Went dumpster diving this morning as usual and the manager of the store came over and told me it was illegal…She couldn’t tell me why. She just said that she beleived in recycling and that it was wrong to take coupons out and use them at her store. She said she owned the dumpsters. I told her that it wasn’t owned by her or the store they were owned by paper retriever.com.
So I am waiting for a email from them. But was wondering if anyone else has had trouble?

I’m not an “avid” dumpster diver, but I will take bags of newspapers out of the recycling bins at my kid’s school when they are overflowing. I take the bags home, pick out the inserts, then return them. Only problem with this is that I can only do it when the bin is almost full. I’ve been to the recycling bins at Fairview & 37 but there is a big sign saying “NO SCAVENGING, etc.” so technically I think you can get in trouble if you get “caught” going through those bins.

Well there isn’t a sign at the dumpsters we go to. And my friend lives next to a sheriff and he said it isn’t ilegal. Theses are really hopping dumpsters too. There is always 4-5 people that come up while you are there digging. If you are the first one there you get anywhere between 50-120 insterts. I just hope the people that own it will email with good news….

Why just paying a little to buy from clipping service??

With the gas price right now, it will save you in the long run. -:)

I don’t need that many multiples. The minimum for most clipping services is at least $3.00. I will stock up on things that my family uses but I don’t need 20-30 coupons for 1 item. Most weeks, there is only 1-2 “hot” items. I get enough by getting inserts from friends and family or getting extras now and then when I get motivated enough to look for more. I drive by recycling bins every day so I’m not going out of my way. I don’t live in a neighborhood where I can do stockpile sales (I live off a county road, half mile driveway, 4 acre wooded lot – I can’t see anyone wanting to driving in for a “garage sale”) so I don’t coupon to “make” any money out of it; I just feed my family very inexpensively. Plus, the only time I’ve ever used a clipping service was during a triples event and I got my coupons so late in the week that the items were sold out; rainchecks won’t help in this case cause it was the tripling that made it a deal. So, clipping services really don’t help me out.

I see your point. But for me, my wife has yardsale at least twice a year to pay our Grocery Bill. .-:) So I often ordered 100 Colgate Toothpaste $ CPN and wait for superdouble to get for free and easily sell $1.00 each towards grocery payment.

Not because we are poor, we are just have fun doing it. Better that sitting on couch and gaining weight. -:)
I dont know anyone (males esp) around my age who get excited about couponing. They all think Im a freak.
    :P
Hahaha! I am freak, I guess then.

My question is why not?? Instead of shop lifting, couponing is the only legal means to get stuff out of store for free and even sometimes got paid.

Like two weeks ago I got 80 suave shampoo on sale $79 for free using 80 $1 CPNs and get paid $15!!! LOL!

Most male at your age or my age do not coupon because they think it will not save much $$ and too much hassle. And is exactly what I thought about Couponing before I get started!!! Most of them are due for a big shock if they know how much $$ we are saving/making!!! I only wished I had started couponing 2-3 years ago and imagine how much $$ I would have saved/made!!! -:)

I don’t dumster dive. I don’t have time and much rather get my nice, neatly clipped coupons in the mail. lol
