Free Legal Music Downloads for Students

While the RIAA folks continue to do battle with P2P file sharing services, Ruckus Networks, Inc., has a better idea. The legal downloading service announced on January 22, they would provide free, advertising supported media for all college students nationwide. Through licensing agreements with major international record labels, as well as thousands of independent labels and artists, Ruckus users have access to “more than 2.1 million high fidelity, virus-free music tracks,” read the company press release. Disney is Coming to XBox

This week, Microsoft announced that it has worked out a deal with Disney for its online download system. This means that select Disney movies will be available for download through the online video game service. The movies will all be available in high definition to subscribers of Microsoft’s Xbox Live service. Among the choices for Xbox owners are the big hits, “Aladdin” and “Armageddon.” The announcement was made by a corporate vice president in Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division, Peter Moore. What is fragmentation? That is a question that I am asked from time to time especially when a friend is experiencing computer slow down. Fragmentation is a condition of your hard drive disk in which files are divided into pieces and scattered through out the hard drive. Fragmentation is a natural occurrence that happens when you use your hard drive frequently, creating, modifying or deleting files.
