Eating Intentionally - Blog Entry

I love your suggestions! I have to have crunch when I'm snacking...cheerios are great for that. If I need protein, I will snack on beef jerky, which is really filling, but can get expensive. Grapes are good, too!

Should Textbooks Be Written To Include Homosexual Achievements? - Blog Entry

Don't you think the Gay Rights Movement deserves as much attention as the Civil Rights Movement? To say it's not a part of history is being blind to the world we live in. Whether you like it or not, part of American History includes the political fallout regarding gay rights and the legal changes already made, and those which will also take place in the future. One more thing: you stated that most of the country believes marriage should be between a man and a woman. That does NOT mean that half the country believes it is wrong to be gay. There is a difference.

The Biggest Loser--Did You Watch? - Blog Entry

Exactly. If they can work out to the point of throwing up, I certainly can break a sweat for a half hour in the comfort of my own home! That show always motivates me...the people motivate me. I'll be watching.

Oh yeah, I wanted to say, if we all just watch The Biggest Loser, which started today, we can get some inspiration. If a 400 lb. man can get on a treadmill for an hour, so can I!

I hear ya! Today was "one of those days" for me! And you're right...when you just need to munch on something, whether because of stress or hunger, there better be carrot sticks or fruit or something in the fridge! I love to snack on fruit...but when you haven't been to the store and all you have is cheese crackers...uh oh! Tomorrow is another day, I guess.

Oh Cathy, how funny! Of course you didn't think it was at the time, but hopefully you find humor in it now. I keep going back up to 180 as well, and this weekend I haven't been very good. I have had crazy cravings lately, and weird cramps, and well, there is a small possiblity I may be pregnant. That would certainly throw off the entire losing weight thing...though I will vow to continue my 2 mile walk and perhaps curtail a weight gain. I'm ahead of myself though, as AF is not due until Wednesday...so, until I find out, I will continue to work at the weight loss.

ADHD? Or is Your Child Actually Gifted? - Blog Entry

16 Sep 2006 05:49 PM

Great information! I have researched this as well. I now believe it is possible to misdiagnose ADHD, but at the same time, I think it is entirely possible to be ADHD and gifted. My daughter is both - very advanced by a few years - both academically and creatively. This includes intuition as well. I looked into the 'Indigo Children' theory, but it didn't seem to entirely fit for my girl. Her ADHD trouble has to do with constant hyperactivity which includes climbing on furniture, constant interruptions, fidgeting, and tics that were present at 2 years old. I hope as she grows, she can turn her energy into positive experiences by way of her giftedness - and perhaps then she may be weaned from her medication. I look forward to your future articles on the subject.

Websites for Writers: Deborah Ng's Job Leads - Blog Entry

Isn't her blog wonderful? I hope there are some writers here who haven't discovered it yet, and get some use from my post! ;)

Misty, I have heard LTK is a great place - they offered me a position writing about watches, but I just couldn't see myself doing that topic. Maybe another one day.

Diary of an Overweight Mom: Day 9-Give Me An Inch, I'll Take a Mile - Blog Entry

There was this theory when I tried the Weight Watchers diet years ago. It said if you use one day a week to splurge, then all the weight your body held onto when it thought it was 'starving' will suddenly drop off. Maybe that is what happened? I know it doesn't make sense, but heck, who cares?! You're still losing! I think we'll hit the 170s at the same time! :)
