Treatment for Depression During Pregnancy

I was delighted to see that formal guidelines for psychiatrists and obstetrician/gynecologists have now been provided regarding antidepressant use for pregnant women. This had been an area which had confused doctors (and therefore their pregnant patients) for far too long. Pregnant on Prozac, the first and only book of its kind, was was released earlier this year to help women understand their choices. Pregnant on Prozac also illustrates the current research regarding safety of taking these medications as opposed to not taking them. It's heartening to see that the research of fellow professionals specializing in the field of perinatal mental health is now considered standard practice.
