29 Sep 2008 08:58 PM Health Tips for Breastfeeding MumsBreastfeeding baby takes a lot of time and when you cannot hand over the baby and bottle to someone else for a turn you may find yourself getting very tired. This is especially likely while baby needs to feed at night or is colicky and fretful. It is possible to get a little doze throughout the day if you lie down to feed the baby. Even if you half-doze for 5-10 minutes you'll find it restful and energizing. If you begin to feel that the only time you get outside is when you hang the nappies, then leave the housework, pop baby into the pram and go for a walk around the block or through the park. Even wheeling the pram through the mall can make you feel rejuvenated. While you are out you might be able to get to know the neighbours, or arrange to meet a friend somewhere for a coffee. Arranging a baby-sitter once a week while you take some time out for yourself is also a good idea. You may only walk to the library and back. Or you might decide to take a craft class or play some sport. Doing a crossword or a jigsaw puzzle are two home activities that can help you feel like you are still using your brain.
