I learned something else from you Art. I read the blog and then went back to one I had just published and changed "horde" to "hoard". Never was a good speller.

You guys acting like everything was ok when the doctor came in reminded me of a story with one of my grown sons. I was on our church staff and it was Sunday morning. He called just before church to say that he had tried beer at a friend's house, last thing he remembered was falling in their bathroom. He woke up the next morning with a big cut on his forehead and was calling me from the emergency room. I was giving him the "I am like God and you are like Israel talk" if you do what I want you to, you will be very happy, if you don't do what I want you to, you will not be happy. The doctor walked in and I acted like a concerned parent. I blew it with the doctor at the very end of our four hours, cat scan, stiches, etc. The doctor sewed him up and asked if we had any questions, I had been so nice in front of the doctor. But I said my only question was, How soon could I kick his _____. The doctor asked if I would wait until we were off the hospital property.

Seriously, you ought to save this blog.

When I was a prosecutor, women would show up in the office all beat up and bloody, needing a warrant for the man that beat the them, then by court time they would be at the door begging me to let the guy go because he had sweet-talked his way out of it, he didn't mean it, etc.

A terrible thing that we see over and over.

The one thing that Lola (that is not her real name of course) did right in her life was sign those children to our family, it took some courage, but she wanted them in a Christian home and we convinced er that we would take care of them.

Well said, ART. I worked in a prison one of the summers that I was in law school and I worked in prison ministry for a few years. On the other hand, I have been a prosecutor. I agree with you about this guy.
