Low Cost Recipes - Blog Entry

Another great place for recipies is the family homestead website. As a matter of fact I am enjoying leftovers from last night, crystal's bean burgers. I thought my family would hate them but I made it anyway and now it is a regular on the menu. Great site all around for living frugally and cooking with less processed foods.

"No Pooing" Method - Blog Entry

Wow ! Congrats smelly guy ( because whether you think so or not I'm sure others around you can smell your genitals!) you've managed to turn a discussion about a viable hair care method into a debate on whether or not cats, rabbits and horses smell. Visit thefamilyhomestead.com and look under health. There is a great artical on this subject that prompted me to try it. And since this post I have started shampooing less once again and my hair is loving it!

"No Pooing" Method - Blog Entry

I did the baking soda/vinegar for three months. Washing about twice a week with baking soda at first was great. Everything I read said that the oil production needs about a month to adjust. It did adjust for about a month. The last month I got a build up that only shampoo could fix, So I incorparated a weekly mini poo with the routine. Then was sucked in by the smell and feel of the chemicals. A friend of mine did this after my attempt and didn't last quite as long. She has since moved to Oregon and says it works fantastically there, so mabey water makes a difference. I'll try again for sure if I get a chance with new water.

Saving Money on Television - Blog Entry

we spend 16 dollars a month to get reception.i'm trying to get my husband to accept that we don't need that anymore either.he is however reluctant.the " we can watch lost online" theory isn't good enough for him cause being a recovering alcoholic where would he go to watch sports besides the bar?our "new" t.v was a 32 inch we bought at costco for 200 dollars 4 years ago.it broke last year and now we are using the t.v from my single days.a 20 inch vcr built in that at the time was expensive for 220 dollars.

Thank you for your post. This is the first year of doing this and its also the first year I'm not randomly choosing gifts for my 5 kids.Shoping without a list in the past lead to buying unevenly for them and then having to run out to grab something to even it out.Having the list and a budget in place has already saved me.As well as cleaning up toys from the Rescue Mission. But that's another story:)

Black Friday or Buy Nothing Day? - Blog Entry

I have'nt ever thought that fighting a crowd to buy more stuff was worth any discount offered compared to the precious time I spend with my family relaxing after a busy day. I mean really does anyone think that getting (if you get there in ahead of everyone else)a cheap t.v is worth the sacrifice and stress on yourself or the kids?Did'nt you stress enough to get the meal ready?Do you really NEED more stuff? A great deal is one thing but that crowd!!
