Well, I still have plenty of conditioner & lotion to use up. Yikes-I had WAY too much. I've given some away, and continued to slowly use up all the products. We also had a huge stockpile of ziploc products from trips to costco. I haven't bought any ziploc products since we moved, and I still have more. It really makes you think. I'm going to try to inventory all the pantry products this week so I can get a better idea of what I need to buy, and what I need to USE UP! Goodwill Hunting and Target - Blog Entry15 Feb 2009 04:51 PM Hmm! I didn't know that Target donated new clothes to the Goodwill! Thanks for the head's up! Because my kids are still little, I sometimes find it easier to buy lots of used children's clothes from craigslist, rather than try to sort through things w/ the kids in tow at a thrift store. Maybe I should try to visit my semi-local Goodwill store more often! Baby Skin Problems 2 - Blog Entry12 Feb 2009 05:18 PM Our son has eczema, and we have found the key is to be on the ball w/ the store brand eucerin. We apply it in the morning and right before bed, and if he gets a break out, we apply hydrocortizone cream several times a day. I also need to make sure his nails are cut short so he doesn't scratch apart his skin when it itches! Adoption Programs You've Never Heard Of - Blog Entry28 Jan 2009 11:32 PM Great article, Pam! It looks like a great website! Thank you! Gina Febrile Seizures and Spinal Taps - Blog Entry20 Jan 2009 11:37 PM Febrile seizures are very scary! Our son has had them 5 times. We went to the Children's hospital the first two times. After the first one, they did a CT scan, and they also drew blood, etc, to rule anything out. The sheaths of the neurons in some children are not fully developed, so when there is a sudden rise in temperature, they are not able to regulate the body's temperature, thus causing a febrile seizure. With my son, a very strong, active boy, he was limp and unable to even hold up his head, etc for 30 min. or more after a seizure. They are also very sleepy afterwords, so it can worry you as a parent, thinking they might be in a coma, etc., when in fact, they are just exhausted from expending all that energy. His last one was about 8 months ago. Even when you know they are harmless, it is still really scary to watch. What to Do When You Can't Afford Preschool - Blog Entry11 Dec 2008 03:59 PM I appreciate this topic. I worked as a Speech/Language Pathologist in the schools & now am staying home to raise our two kids, ages 3 & 2 1/2. Money is tight, & I have been thinking about this topic a lot! Of course, I can easily teach them the basic concepts, shapes, colors, letters, social interacting, etc., but I think there's a "guilt factor," wanting to give your children the very best, and assuming that means a formal preschool program. I really appreciate your writing & enjoy reading all your blogs. Tears in Heaven - Blog Entry30 Jul 2008 12:12 AM What a poignant blog! Thank you for sharing it with us! Adoption Considerations when you Already Have Children: Safety - Blog Entry27 Jun 2008 03:04 PM This is very true, Pam! Many go into adoption blind to some of these realities. Thank you for writing such an informative blog. Gina |
