Birthday Party Anxiety - Blog Entry29 Oct 2006 12:38 AM Just had a look at the terrific pics on your site about Alex's birthday etc - they look great, love the little sun bird in nest, scrub turkey and tropical flowers, too. XX The Week In Review: October 28, 2006 - Blog Entry29 Oct 2006 12:19 AM Valorie, you are amazing. I believe YOUR children will not only go to college but will be very sound minded, rounded, holistic people and contribute well within the communities in which they live in years to come. Sue B. Birthday Party Anxiety - Blog Entry29 Oct 2006 12:10 AM Well done, Megan. As Mum's go, you are the best. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, again, to a wonderful boy. Love you all. XXX Depression: The myth of "Chemical Imbalance" - Blog Entry28 Oct 2006 11:58 PM So very good to read your blog, Beth. In addition to the "chemical imbalance" line, how about referring to people with an illness as he or she is a "schizophrenic", or some other like comment - these coments make me cringe. Surely the PERSON is the focus, not an illness. It is like being in the waiting room of the family doctor waiting to be called as "ingrown toenail, please come in, how are you today?" I like your blogs. Sue Bayliss. Was Sexual Violence Awareness Month Successful at Families.com? - Blog Entry28 Oct 2006 11:46 PM Congratulations Megan, I believe you did achieve your aim in raising awareness about this dreadful issue that changes people's personalities, emotions and psychological wellbeing, leaving many with a dreadful scar upon their very soul. I am looking forward to reading articles from you of a happier nature. God bless, Mum. XX Attaching from Far Away - Babies and Young Toddlers - Blog Entry28 Oct 2006 11:33 PM Your list of suggestions for attachment process is excellent, Rachel. I too am a social worker (now retired) and have done many follow-up reports over a two year period following foreign adoptions. I wish you all the best for yourself and also for your children who will soon be joining you. We will be thinking of you. I worked in Guatemala for a while in the late 1980's, and early 1990's. I am delighted to hear of your little son from there. Diabetic Friendly Chocolate Cheesecake - Blog Entry28 Oct 2006 11:22 PM Mmmm, yum yum yum - dysphagia prevents me from swallowing chocolate and many other foods but I CAN drool over this recipe! What it Takes to Be A Teacher - Blog Entry27 Oct 2006 06:34 PM Oh, how I would have loved to work with you when I was experiencing deep frustration about the lack of commitment displayed by many school teachers in relation to the neglect and protective needs of some children. In my book, you have really hit the nail on the head! Do Our Pets Go to Heaven? - Blog Entry27 Oct 2006 06:03 PM Melissa, what a lovely article - I take great comfort from Luke 17:21 "... the Kingdom of God is within you." - from my earliest memories, I have always loved dearly a long line of faithful and loving dogs (and other animals) and believe that in my memory, spirit and soul, they are held up before God's throne of Grace together with all those people I love so dearly from either side of the doorway of life and so called death. My dear old Gwyllum gives so much love, comfort and protection, it can not be for nothing! God bless. Sue B. |
