A New Morning! A New "To-Do" List.

My dear husband and I are both the kind of people who make a "to do" list every morning. We are those over-organized types who tend to plan ahead and like to see things go just the way we planned them. It's always been nice because we can slip a task onto each others lists. I like to add little things to his like: "Write Anna a $1,000 Check because you love her." And my dear husband likes to add a few things to mine such as, cook a 16 oz Steak for dinner because my cholesterol is very very low.

We plan everything! We have a "quarterly" plan, a half year plan, a year plan, a 3-year plan and our long term plan. Usually things go well, we try to add some wiggle room for unexpected things that often come up. But, we generally don't do very well when things mess up our plans!

Today was supposed to be one of my big work days to catch-up on the things I have had a difficult time keeping up with during this HUGE move we are making, into the house we spent 2-years looking for! Today, I was supposed to be able to write at least 6 Blogs and answer all the email from my Personal Website.

............"the best laid plans of mice and men...."

We had planned to sign the Sale Papers of our house with our buyers on May 26th.....another week and 4 days to finish packing, and moving the junk 6 people have collected all their lives, the fish tank, the cat and all that stuff we forgot we even had.....we were supposed to sign on Friday and then drive to our new home and not look back.......the kid's last day of school is the 25th and everything was falling right into place.........

...........until the phone rang.

..........it was our buyers......

..........everything is going well, they have their mortgage loan approved, and they have sold their home, and are living in a hotel just awaiting for our well-planned, methodical, deliberate and slow move......

........and then the buyers dropped the bomb and asked the question which caused our tight-wad and thrifty sides to pop out! The Buyers dared to mess with our LISTS and asked the question...."Do you think we could close on Monday the 22 instead of Friday the 26?

...........My husbands calculator brain kicked in and did the math! It costs us something in the neighborhood of $75.00 a day to keep this house, and well that's a lot of cash! So, OF COURSE we can sign on Monday instead of Friday!

Sounded nice, until we hung the phone up and looked at our mutual lists of things to do......then the PANIC HIT! We have to BE DONE by Sunday night! And we have to figure out how to get the children to the last 4 days of school, without a home for the bus to pick them up at.....without a place for breakfast.....without a HOME! We have to clean the toilets, call all the utilities and cancel, forward the mail, clean corners of a house that haven't been seen for ten years and pull ourselves out of the only HOME we have all shared together!

By Sunday Night!

..............and we are in the middle of a heat wave...............

...........and I don't have any pans to cook with they are LOST!.................

...........and, and, and my list is Crazy!

I want to lay on the sofa and watch day-time television! I want to play in the backyard with water and the children.....I want to eat Banana Splits for Dinner and I DO NOT WANT TO WORK THIS HARD!

Okay, so this was a Venting Entry! and now I have to rush around and actually drag us out of this Old House.
