The youngest, a 2 year old, started darting away from her when her hands were full as little ones are want to do when they see the big wide open. When she gave a small shout, I took off after him. I caught his arm just as he launched himself towards the street and oncoming traffic. I actually dislocated his poor little shoulder in an effort to keep him out of the road. We ended up going to the doctor and he put the shoulder back in. I felt HORRIBLE. But his mother kept saying over and over that she'd rather his shoulder were dislocated than his body flattened by a car. As a mother myself -- you bet your bottom dollar I'll grab any part of their anatomy I can reach if I have to. Abuse happens when you do it in ANGER and you are TRYING to hurt the child. Someone needs to give, because those writers deserve what they are asking for and it's starting to put a serious crimp in what's out there to watch and I LOVE award shows.
