Get the Gun Out - Blog Entry11 Sep 2006 04:02 AM Julie, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to respond and for stating your position and while I respect and appreciate it, beginning it with a playful threat is hardly the way to illustrate a point. Loading a gun in 22 seconds is an admirable quality, but accidents happen and the idea that you can cite only 236 deaths attributable to guns in the home is not only far from ideal, it's terribly sad. Any death that can be prevented from needlessly occuring is important. Owning a gun is a choice -- just as choosing to not own one despite the terror tactics of gun supporters and accidents happen -- even among the most well-trained and competent users of firearms. So just knowing and being ever vigilant is of course, not a guarantee. Thanks for dropping in and sharing your thoughts -- I appreciate it. Toddler in the House? I loathe guns. My husband and I decided a long time ago we wouldn't have them in our home and the one time we had a friend staying with us who brought a gun, she was told either her gun left or she and the gun could both leave. It's .6 miles from here to my daughter's school, but the hill is very gently sloping -- but there's a route I can take in a huge circuit that's 3 miles and I get some up and down there. I remember getting in trouble in one of the debate rooms once where they debating which show was better TNG versus TOS and I said it was hard for me to give them an honest opinion on a series that was canceled before I was born.
