I wasn't ready for that Sniper movie they made about the Snipers that began a killing and terror streak on my anniversary that lasted until my husband's birthday. I knew people at the Pentagon. I saw the World Trade Center explosion in 93. I hardly think the survivors of Pearl Harbor wanted to see a movie about it three years later and I don't want to see these stories now. They were real people. I read about them. I cried for them and I know their families still mourn. The rest is just spectacle. Or they used to be. I could never think of a great way to encapsulate the information so that not only would it entice an editor, but actually make them want to see the article. The best advice an editor ever gave me is think about what you read on the back of a book. Does it make you want to pick it up?
