In fact, I'm still not in a traditional family. We have one child and five dogs! Still, I think traditional is the image of the family support network. I think she's behaving in the manner she perceives is expected of the supporting fiance who is not going to blow it instead of just being herself. She did something similar over Dean when she wouldn't let her mom have a word in edgewise. Rory's never made such a "critical" error in her life. Lorelai has always been such a power house influence that she's helped Rory self-correct -- what got me was admiring Lorelai's strength in letting Rory fall. That was hard. Especially after Emily and Richard pulled a fast one -- but Rory is a stronger person for it and I'm hoping she will finally come into her own and be her own person -- not Lorelai's daughter or the Gilmore's grandaughter or heaven help her, Logan's girlfriend. I think this season has had some of the strongest moments and some of the weakest, but I'm a sucker for the characters. It's like life -- some years are good and some are so-so, but you're always back for the conversation if nothing else! She doesn't get why I haven't done it to her yet, but then she doesn't really want them yet either. I think, if she really wants them, now that she is older I am more inclined to say yes. A lot of us are likely to look at the stay home housewife with no children a bit askance. The thing is -- how noble is a career as a secretary? As a systems administrator? As a customer service representative? Should we really judge someone's career choices -- if they are both satisfied and content with what they have chosen? Saturday Date Movies - Blog Entry09 Apr 2006 12:51 PM Christina, I love dinner theaters too. Here we have two, I think or there might be three. There are two I know of. One is close to downtown and the other is actually closer to us. At one you sit at round tables and eat. The other has trench/bench like tables. The area space in front of you is small, but sufficient enough. The food is more like appetizer trays, burgers and the like. They stick to finger foods. The round table restaurant offers more 'meal-like' dinners. It can be pricey, but when you consider the cost of concessions and restaurants and then combine it with a movie ticket -- it's not THAT different. It's a great place to take the kids when it comes to watching a movie and eating.
