Namibia - Birthplace of Beauty

02 May 2006 06:31 PM

Libby, great post as always -- I for one get tired of the hoopla surrounding these people. I like Angelina and Brad, but frankly -- I don't care if they sneezed, got up and sat around in baggy clothes or had to go halfway around the world to get away from the press. But I do appreciate the information on Namimbia. That's really interesting! We often forget the areas of real beauty that still exist on the African Continent.

Morbid Meanderings Mean Much - Gastric Bypass Surgery

02 May 2006 12:59 PM

Thanks for the info there, Lisa. I'm going to see if I can actually interview a counselor or physician that performs gastric bypass in order to get a more accurate and timely view!

A Challenge for May Dieters

Glad you like it Catherine! These ideas are up on my fridge now that you mentioned it. Sometimes, it's just the easiest way to remember things!

Garage Sale Hopping

30 Apr 2006 03:36 PM

Sweet! That's a great tale of a successful garage sale. I'm contemplating hosting one soon to do the same. Just to clear out the excessive amounts of junk (re pack rat) that we have collected.

The Family Bed - Part 1

30 Apr 2006 02:59 PM

I have no problems with co-sleeping. My daughter comes to sleep with Mommy at least once a week. She even asks Daddy is he minds cause the bed isn't big enough for all three of us. Course, when Daddy is traveling or away, she always stays with me. it provides her with more security.

Displaying Children's Artwork

Ooh, I like the border idea. We took a posterboard and made a collage out of her artwork at one point. She draws ALL the time. So sometimes we have stacks and stacks of creations. We'll choose the best ones and add it to the collage.

Myths About Marriage

28 Apr 2006 12:19 AM

I agree with both of you! Marriage should provide you with a safe haven, a trusted friend, advisor and companion. Of course there is no such thing as perfect, yet our culture is filled with these references and ideas. It can be very eye opening for a couple to realize they are not Ozzie and Harriet and that in the real world we don't get trumpets and happily ever afters. I liked what you mentioned about love songs, T.B. I'd forgotten about that line.

Watch What You Say

Thank you for sharing that! I wish her mom great good luck. This is exactly the type of thing that will happen and it will create another generation of finger pointing, social alienation and more.

United 93 - Are We Ready?

27 Apr 2006 04:25 PM

I'm not ready for it. I wasn't ready for that Sniper movie they made about the Snipers that began a killing and terror streak on my anniversary that lasted until my husband's birthday. I knew people at the Pentagon. I saw the World Trade Center explosion in 93. I hardly think the survivors of Pearl Harbor wanted to see a movie about it three years later and I don't want to see these stories now. They were real people. I read about them. I cried for them and I know their families still mourn.

The rest is just spectacle.
