Say So Long To Parking Tickets - Blog Entry

12 Oct 2006 06:15 AM

Sounds like a novel idea. Wish they'd do it here. In my town you can get booked for feeding the metre every couple of hours (they still chalk the tyres, even though you park in a metred zone). I think it's a three hr limit that you can be parked in the one spot for. A pain in the rear!

What a delightfully driven article! Thanks Valorie. These links are going to be most helpful to me.

My son starts his "delight driven" two days per week as of tomorrow. After school this afternoon he attended a conference where I was presenting a workshop at, BUT, because he's being unschooled tomorrow he has to also attend another workshop presentation with me and report back to his class on it next week. Tonght he's helped me make up conference workshop packages and we have worked out what role he will play in my BITSS of Protective Play presentation. What delightful, and hands-on, learrning for him.

My husband comes home tomorrow night. THANK GOODNESS - I am exhausted.

Bugger - I've got the wrong ex-husband!!!! I sold my wedding ring too after my divorce. I loved it but it made me feel sad. Let me tell you, I didn't even get $1,000.00 let alone $130,000.

What can I say - thank you just isn't enough. Will you marry me Valorie?? I've just had a wonderful meeting with our son's school. We're going to try 3 days at school and 2 days natural learning at home. By the end of the school term (only 7 weeks away) we'll make a decision about whether to full time home school or not. I'm happy. He's happy. School's happy. Your point number 5 has been the biggest struggle for us...but, I have finally just let go. It is soooooooo freeing. Thank you for all of your support. Schooling a child with ASD doesn't have to be hard - you were right all along Valorie.

Are You A Perfectionist? - Blog Entry

Oh gosh, I came up perfectionist and real - does that make me abnormal??? Don't answer!!! Great blog Myra. If more Mums could admit to being real and stop sweating the small stuff, we'd have happier children.

Have linked this to my article as my favorite article of the day.

SNAP - we're twins. I HATE cleaning but LOVE a clean house. I am a natural messy person and I have accepted that. I'm pretty sure it's a sign of high intelligence!

While I was away recently my husband did a clean up. He changed my office completely. Do you think I can find anything in all that tidiness!!!!!

So...he's away this week and guess what he's going to come home to!

Homeschooling Days: The Family Journal & Writing - Blog Entry

09 Oct 2006 06:23 PM

Is there a homeschooling site where kids can post their book reviews, excurion excitments, things about them, etc?

My son has a lot of difficulty writing and it has been suggested that we throw the pencils away and allow him to word process everything. He's a dab hand on the keyboard and a site as suggested may just encourage active participation from him.

Is anything available or should I be designing a site - I would include a word a week too, just like adults get when they subscribe to dictionary.com?????

Teaching Your Children to Use a Grocery Budget - Blog Entry

09 Oct 2006 05:19 PM

Oh dear - we'd be eating pies for the entire month. They're so cheap to buy, take zero preperation time in the microwave and they're Master 11 yr olds FAVORIE food.

Although I'm adding the link to this article to my Favorite child focused article of the day, I won't be sharing it with Master 11 yr old. I'll do the shopping until he develops a taste for something different.

Great blog Miriam. Mxx
