Déjà vu. I recognize you (and me). - Blog Entry

29 Sep 2006 10:33 PM

Hey Tristi I had to go and grab the newspaper from the rubbish paper so that I could reread the article. Hope you can't smell it!!! I quote from his article but it does seem to pertain to his final point of those likely to experience Deja Vu: "These people are more willing to admit to having a 'strange' experience than those who are more consertative." I guess if higher income is a category, my days of Deja Vu are over!!!! Or not, I often have the Deja Vu when I see others spending up.

I love journalling. I always start with it. My photos support my journalling rather than the other way around.

What is NOT Appropriate Sexual Development in Early Childhood. - Blog Entry

29 Sep 2006 05:47 PM

Thank goodness your daughter told you Diane. Well done to you, and her, for being able to discuss it. You have done the right thing to halt contact. Parents need to stop putting their kids at risk. Don't forget though, if you want to report, you still can. That other little girl may well be a victim and require help to stop acting out her own sexalised behavior.

Congratulations to you Diana for protecting your child. Mxx

Five Safe Alternatives for Halloween Activities - Blog Entry

Good ideas Miriam. The thought of having children roam the street or neighborhood scares me. Yesterday was so much simplier. Today, we have many more real risks that our children are needlessly exposed to. Risk managing by offering safer alternatives to a traditional child-focused celebration is a FANTASTIC trade off.

What an absolutely fantastic idea. You could do the same for emotions using cookies or sweets that have faces on them - even making faces, with expressions, on pizza bases. Great idea Kristyn.

My Scrapbooking Mess - A Personal Saga - Blog Entry

Hallelujah! May art based chaos reign supreme (oh...I hope my anally retentive accountant husban doesn't read this). I cannot for the life of me work out how to be a tidy scrapper. I always end up with the entire table, the kitchen bences and any available floor space COVERED with my toold of trade. I LOVE IT!! And really Nicole, as for your final question on unfinished projects, I'm sorry but just in case there's a character limit on the comment answers, I'd better not even begin!! I'm happily making paper bag Christmas Cards. I fold them so that the openings are at the top and Candy Canes or Chocolate can be inserted (if I don't eat them all first). I also put loops on the cards so that they become a tree decoration in themselves.

I try to always ask the question, "Will this change the price of rice in China?". If the answer is no, then don't sweat the small stuff. Pyjama pants as underwear - go for it. It's one less thing to wash too! Mxx

Ten Ways To Help Your Shelter - Blog Entry

Aimee this would be a good cause for the wearing of a support your local pet shelter T.Shirt for "Topical Whensday" ( http://mental-health.families.com/blog/topical-whensday-when-will-you-cause-an-effect ). Another thing about animals that really bothers me is when a family exits their home due to domestic violence they often have no where to leave their beloved pet. Boarding at pet shelters is too expensive for the family and the family often have to relinquish their pet. Good blog. Thanks.
