There's an emarch circulating for Take Back the Night (It's called Reclaim the Night here). It started as a blog here - check it out under mental health or enter "Take Back the Night" into our search button. Leave a comment for other women or legislators and send it widely. I know it's doing the rounds where I live because I keep getting calls from people saying it's a great idea. They won't join the site though and leave a comment. I don't know what else to do to raise awareness. One in three females sexually assaulted is intolerable but many people think that it will never touch their life. These are not so bizarre Myra, it happens all the time. What is bizarre is that we are all slow to report when we recognize the warning signs of abuse. Child abuse is a community responsibility. Lack of belief in yourself is a heinous villian that needs a good beating. Sucessful people (no, I'm not talking purely financial success) do not get that way by not believeing and striving for what they want to do. In Feb this year I quit from a job I love, and from a regular pay packet to pursue what I really wanted to do. I figure that on my death bed I'm not going to be saying, "Gee I wish I'd worked harder," so I changed the way I work.
