Maya's poetry is potent, brilliant. I support their causes from afar. Each woman has done an amazing amount of excellent work in raising the profile and shattering the silence around sexual abuse - if only Oprah would include my children's book on her reading list!!!!! Visiting the Madison Children's Museum - Blog Entry22 Oct 2006 03:24 AM Ohhh - that sounds like my kind of place (I could double as either the cow or the dinosaur) to hang out. I lOVE that sort of thing. We have a lot of living museums and interactive displays here. Kids can handle sea anenomes, live shells, coral, ect. I used to love touching the sea sponges so that they would spit at my kids. I'm surprised I was never asked to leave for being the naughtiest mother there. Create Your Own Family Holidays - Blog Entry21 Oct 2006 03:20 PM We don't celebrate Valentines day because we hate the commercialism of it. Instead, on Feb 14th, he pulls a month out of a hat, and I pull a day out of another. That date becomes our day - I have even taken the day off work in previous years to do the special preparations for the evenings celebration. We love it. We also have a 24 yr tradition of putting the Christmas tree up on my birthday, Dec 2. The kids never forget that's the day of rediscovering Chrissy deco's and food planning for all the "do drop in" visitors over the next few weeks.
