I Don't Want My Kids to be That Coworker Who Won't Do Dishes

05 Jun 2008 12:50 PM

Yes, I can so relate. Sadly through the years I have become quite sensitive to be quick to clean community dirt. For example I started a job, where there were only two men in the office and they never cleaned the microwave. Is that gross? Yes, but I wasnt going to be the one cleaning up after them and setting a precedent. Especially when one of them who hates answering the phones tried to get me to answer the phones bc people like "hearing a woman's voice."

Love in Action

I cant constantly have to practice what I preach. I believe God's promise that repeats to us over and over again. Have faith, he will provide, he will lead, lean not on our own understanding but trust in the Lord, but when I get to crisis mode I have to stop and remember to address the issue from His perspective not I am superwoman hear me roar.

What Affects Friendship?

14 Apr 2008 08:35 AM

As a newlywed with kids, I want friendship but also see how easy it is to make that a low priority in relation to marriage, kids, etc. At this stage in my life and from a practical standpoint, I pray for friendship from like couples. I don't mean the same ethnicity but with common interests and ofcourse same faith. Although for us we haven't found our BFF couples, I know God wants to befriend one another, support one another and view fellow Christians as family. Am I being preferential to just people who profess to be Christian? No, but we are to be as blameless as doves and shrewd as snakes. We are to be careful of the company we keep and who let into our family and marriages.

The Names of God: Jehovah, The Great I Am

I have to remind myself of this everyday lest a spiritual conversation turn into a a foolish debate.

2Ti 2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 2Ti 2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 2Ti 2:26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Dangerous Paths

Scary thing is the Disney channel. Lots of shows and movies dealing with the occult. Wizards of Waverly Place. Luck of the Irish (curses and leprechaun magic).

A former coworker of mine went to a Christian high school. I dont know how much impact it had on her. But she goes 4 to5 times a year to have her cards read, does some Tarot card stuff herself. Though she is heterosexual she insulated by homosexual group of friends. I read this blog entry and wondered how I could reach her. Once I told her about my new path, Jesus Christ etc. things have not been the same.

This is probably old news. But I see where you were going with this Valerie. My mother meditates on all of God's name because of what each represents. Each name means something about who He is, what He does, and His promises. He is so many things - and the different names reflect that giving us a glimpse into how awesome He really is. I didnt read ALS's comment as challenging maybe adding to what you were saying but kind of taking the topic into a different direction. Worship versus theological. Anyway hope to read more from you ladies. Any Beth Moore students?

Ok this sounds very unhealthy, which means my husband will love it. This would be a great weekend dish and should be great as leftovers. Yum.

Is Daycare Good For My Baby?

Thanks for the article. A pastor at my church discussed this at a premarital seminar. And he said kids spell love T-I-M-E.
