19 Jan 2009 08:59 AM An Odyssey in the Psalms: Ps 14To the choirmaster. Of David. 1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God.» How many times, in difficult circumstances, have we thought that our God has abandoned us? How many times when the wind of trials blew over our lives, have we thought that God had hidden His face? Remember that the enemy loves to whisper in our souls this thousands-of-years-old lie that God has withdrawn from our situation. If God took the trouble to choose us, to place his Holy Spirit within us, to regenerate our hearts, it isn't to abandon us in the middle of any trial. He will be there, even if we pass through a burning furnace prepared by the enemy.
2 The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. In the next passage, we also find the description of the man, the woman, unregenerate, where corruption, abomination and perversion are the descriptive keywords, those who do not call upon the Everlasting. They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.
3 They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.
4 Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the Lord? Our God is a just God. He will not forget the times of denunciation we've had to go through because we wear His Name. In Him, we find or we will find our refuge. No matter what we are captive to, let us remember that the Everlasting is a God who delivers. There is nothing he cannot do, nothing is too difficult for Him. He has prepared times of rejoicing and cheer for us.Isn't that marvelous?5 There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous. 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion ! When the Lord restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. Prayer: "Thank you Lord for these times of rejoicing that You prepare for me and my family! At the moment, during this test of my faith, I only want to keep my eyes on you, My Redeemer! Remembering Your marvelous promises, I already taste the sweet flavor of victory!"
