An Odyssey in the Psalms: Ps 19 (A)

In the first part of this psalm, David brings us at the first row of the spectacle, where his creature acclaims the works of the eternal God.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.

3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.

4 Their measuring line goes out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In them, he has set a tent for the sun,

5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.

6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

When you will have a chance to pass some time in the nature, take time looking at the presentation prepared by God as a blessing for us You will discover the magnificent treasure of complexity and originality that gives glory to our creator. With the lights play, the projection will be as great during the day or even night. Many actors will try to dazzle you in numerous scenes presented to you at all kind of hours of the day even at the late hours of the night (for the nighthawks).

Diverse things will take effects to startle you by their many talents, when you will take time to listen and contemplate the play of life.

You will find the singing of the birds, the knocking of the woodpecker, the warble of the turtledoves, and many more. Under the rolling of the thunder, for those of you who like strong sensations, you will assist in the deployment of small drops of water bouncing from branch to branch jus to amaze you with their agility.

You will hear the wind play a melody using the branches and leaves of different trees, and proud to be use for the glory of God.

At the beginning of a summer night, you will assist at the most beautiful solo of crickets, at the presentation of the bullfrogs, happy to croak under the stars, and while doing it sitting on the floating on lily pads. It is while looking at the creation of God that David was inspired to compose this psalm. Seeing the perfection in the word of his God, David realized the link between this perfection and the word given in heritage for the saints of this world. Prayer:

“Open my eyes Father and enable me to admire, in all its beauty, the splendour of your creation! Make me more sensible to the fact, that your Glory will be manifested in the murmur of the wind, in the majestic power of the sea, and the fragility of the daisy. All of your works, like the canvas of the master, unveil one of the facets of your personality!”
