He's graduating this June and leaving for university this August. He's been haveing so much anxiety about everything about it. Just as you described in your blog. He's a 4.0 student, and of course I can totally undee4rstand his fears in growing up. He's got prom on the 17th of this month and this is going to really hit him hard. Thanks for sharing your post, as I know feel better knowing that this is something many kids go through. Have a beautiful Mother's Day! Janette A Soul-Searching Question: What Special Needs Could We Handle?12 Jun 2007 05:34 AM Hi Pam, I have avery close friend that has just adopted 2 children from China with special needs. It does take strong special people to handle such things but, I also feel that with all that comes such a special kind of love. She and her husband are getting ready to go back to China to get their special need daughter. Yes, of course there has been MANY ups and downs to it too but, she'd do it all over again. I on the otherhand don't know if I could do such a thing, as I am just to soft hearted and I would suffer way to much for the child. I love both her children and they are such sweet, kind hearted little one, and I am just greatful that God has lead them into their lifes. They are all happy. She has 3 biological children (older ones and out of the house) and now she's starting over with another 3. God bless her and God bless you. Whatever Happened to the Summer Job?12 Jun 2007 05:24 AM Hi Kory, I have to agree with you. My son 17 has been knocking on door and doors and all he seems to running into is "apply on line." Are you kidding me? Apply on line? Then what? Who's to say they even look at these applications? I remember when you had to go in and apply in person. Atleast this way you knew they had your application. So, after applying he waits 3 to 4 days and he calls the places for a reply or something. Know what he's gotten? "No, sorry son, we have not gotten your application." or "We'll look it over and call you in a few days." Weeks go by and nothing. Finally just this Friday CVS has called him back to let him know that they are doing a background check and they will call him this week for an interview. Can you believe this? Why do u suppose it's getting tuffer for our children to find jobs? It's not that there aren't any. So, then what? Happy Birthday Donald!12 Jun 2007 05:18 AM I'm also a huge Disney fan even at the age of 45! Guess I'll just never grow up. What a place to just let go!! I have never been to Disneyland but, living in Florida I have lost count of how many times I have visited Disney World. Jannyelise |
