Recession Food: Whole Turkey - Blog Entry

29 Feb 2008 02:54 PM

Mary Ann, Perfect timing for this. lol Giant had turkey breast on sale for $2.99 a pound, is that good price? Nobody in my family eats the dark meat so a lot of meat, etc would go to waste if I bought a whole turkey. Laura

The Smelly Home Conspiracy - Blog Entry

Sometimes I will put a pot of water on the stove and throw in some cinnamon sticks and cloves and let it simmer all day. It smells so good. I used to do this when we ran our kerosene heater all the time. It also helps put moisture into the air. Laura

My best advice when decluttering a certain area, when in doubt, throw it out. If you haven't used the item in a year or so ask yourself if you really need it. I find myself never using the item that I shoved into the closet last year. lol When my house is a total mess and I feel totally overwhelmed I start in one room and clean it up until its finished. Starting in the kitchen is were I always begin. Have a great Sunday! Laura

Hey with the snow and ice coming I may try to make butter in my bread mchine tomorrow. You can use the buttermilk for pancakes or freeze and it thaws out nicely.

Aldi's has butter for a few pennies over $2, not bad. I try and buy several at a time. Laura

We are also keeping an eye on the sky. Billy has checked the radar twice this morning to see when the storms will hit. It's so warm out that I also had to open the windows. Enjoy the day! Laura
