Frugal Spring Cleaning: Washing Windows

13 Apr 2007 06:51 AM

When growing up mom always cleaned windows with newspaper. I need to get back to that since, I use about 2 rolls of paper towels to clean all the windows in this house. I like the vinegar idea. I think I am going to try that. Blessings, Laura

Frugal Lessons from The Amish: Cooling Food

13 Apr 2007 06:46 AM

Mary Ann, I use outside to keep and store food, especially around the holidays. In fact last week at Easter I made sweet potatoes. I baked them off, put them in a pan and stored them on the front porch to stay cold. It works GREAT!! My mom and grandmother did this a lot also. They would stick food out on the back porch. lol Blessings, Laura

How to Wash Out a Baggie

10 Mar 2007 05:10 AM

I have never washed a baggie out. My grandmother did. She would wash it out and then hang it on the clothes line. This was easier for her b/c the clothes line was right out the back door. LauraI

Buying Organic? Know When to Spend And When to Save

03 Mar 2007 05:49 PM

I usually try organic whenever my wallet can afford it. I have pretty much given up on buying organic fruits and veggies. It is just way to expensive, and way go through waaayyy to much of it for our family size. I know you should definitly buy organic strawberries, but who can afford them? lol Not me!! When I buy strawberries the whole container goes in one sitting. Thanks for the research!! Great tips!! Laura
