To my knowledge its beardies and leopard geckos. And I want to add that the main problem is calcium consumption and the uvb lighting. As for treatment of severe cases of MBD, there is actually no reversal of mbd at this stage. Just ways to alleviate pain. But bones can be fixed. Lumps don't usually go away. That is why I always emphasize the importance of researching before getting a reptile. Because these types of things are terrible. I've seen countless times, how people just abuse their right to buy an animal. I've seen people with chameleon lighting on a beardie! Terrible! You can use a reptisun 5.0 bulb on a uromastyx! Beardies are one of the two that are more commonly suffering from mbd. And they would require something like a reptisun10.0, mega ray, or my personal favorite the zilla desert series 50 fluorescent tube. I have those on my beardie tanks. This goes the same for substrate use but that is another topic for another article! |
