Are You a Social Phobic?

My name is Karen and I am 34 years old. I have suffered from social anxiety since I was about 12 years old. However I didnt realize what it was. I assumed it was just being shy. As I got older especially in May of 2008 when both of my parents died. The anxiety came out full force. I wanted to stay in my home. I could no longer hold down a job. Social anxiety is debilitating. I finally got the courage to go to a counselor. He has helped me out tremendously. If I can help any one dealing with social anxiety I would be glad to talk. karen
