Yup -- it's another thing we do, too. :-) Our current WWII study dovetails with our geography, our writing practice, literature studies ... Kids retain so much more when they can make connections.

Great post, Andrea. We incorporate many interests, extracurriculars and hobbies as curriculum as well. So many "everyday experiences" are truly educational, and I agree that there's no reason to double up and add unnecessary "class" time.

I agree wholeheartedly, Andrea. Homeschooling is still seen as "out there" by a number of people, and any encouragement we can offer one another is so helpful.
