I'm a well traveled Brit and used to standing in line to present my passport then collect my luggage. It was way before 9/11 and so this wasn't anything to do with security issues, it was just "attitude"! It was also the first time I saw dogs sniffing around the luggage - probably for drugs - but I remember feeling terrified that one of them would sniff out the chocolate in my bag and start to make a fuss over it! I've never been so happy to get out of an arrivals area in my life! The next time I went to Orlando, I flew via a gateway airport and the reception in Orlando to people arriving on a domestic flight is much friendlier than the one they give to those getting off a 9+ hour transatlantic one! Great story about the lady and her sister's passport! LOL Katie-Anne Poker? - Journal Entry18 Jan 2007 01:34 AM Hi Libby, Yes, I play online! Love to watch the celebrity poker challenges on TV, and of course Daniel Negareau who's real cute (shhh don't tell hubby!) as well as a gifted and entertaining pro! Katie-Anne How To Quiet Your Little Chatterbox - Blog Entry18 Jan 2007 01:27 AM I think I had an instictinve feeling that my boys would be chatterboxes before they were even born. I was probably the only mother in the world ever that wasn't in a hurry for her little ones to utter their first word because I had this gut feeling that once they started, they wouldn't stop. Always trust your gut instincts ladies! LOL At 6 and 3 they are articulate, bilingual (English/Swedish) and only hush up when they're asleep - even when they play on their own their little voices give a constant commentary whether they're buiding railway empires or painting masterpieces! Funny thing is, neither their pappa or I are talkative people, must be in the gene pool somewhere, but it's not from us! Katie-Anne It's A Small World... - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 03:06 AM Julie, I didn't work on the ride, I went on it once - and that was enough to do something with my sanity! Now I hear that tune and immediately I want to shut out all sound until it's over! LOL It's the only Disney-related thing that I can honestly say I hate! I can't imagine having to work there - that tune....urgh, it's like Quasimoda and the bells! LOL Katie-Anne Awards - Disney Sideswiped? - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 02:56 AM With 2 little boys who are obsessed with it, I think that as long as it was advertised and made it into movie theatres it would have been a success. It's not one of my favorites, but hey, I'm a Snow White kinda gal! LOL Katie-Anne Award Show Secrets - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 01:40 AM Of course they have to go to all of this trouble otherwise we wouldn't recognize them because the photos in celebrity magazines are so airbrushed to hide any flaws that can't be physically removed! LOL Katie-Anne Here We Go Again - Another Famous Celebrity Split - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 01:37 AM Thank goodness for you Libby! I thought I was the only female in the world to look at Justin Timerlake and wonder what on earth all the fuss was about! THANK YOU! Katie-Anne Making Deployments a Little Easier - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 01:33 AM Finally you tell me something positive that the military is doing to help the families of the personnel it takes on active duty! This is a great idea, especially for families like yours where daddy (or even mommy) is overseas and they have real little ones at home. How wonderful for those children to be able to see their parent talking and moving, not just a photo or words on a page/screen. The person who finally sanctioned this, plus the people who probably went half-crazy doing the lobbying to get it authorized, deserve a "military family" medal for this one! Katie-Anne Cars: Another Pixar Masterpiece - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 01:26 AM Both my more sedate 6 year old (who was able to sit through the Sound of Music at 18 months old without fidgeting) and my 2 year old super-fidget sat through Cars spellbound - and then requested to watch it again! I'm not sure what the attraction is to be honest, it's an ok movie as these movies go, and you've gotta love Mater ("as in To-mater without the tow"), and of course ol' Doc's my favorite car, but McQueen really gets on my nerves until a good way through the movie when he started to straighten out a bit .....hmmm does that mean I have less attention span than a 2 year old....hmmm worrying thought! LOL Katie-Anne Finding Nemo: A Pixar Classic - Blog Entry17 Jan 2007 01:21 AM The sharks are my favorite part of this movie, and Dory voiced by Ellen my favorite character! Pixar did a great job with creating the ocean environment/life - the colors are stunning. Until Cars came along Nemo was my boys' fav. animated movie - now unfortunately Lightning McQueen has edged it into second position, but I'm still hooked on the colors of the sea rather than the roar of an engine so I think I'll stick with Nemo!
