To Be or Not to Be - Blog Entry

I don't mean for this comment to sound rude, but I noticed that you got the title of Scott Anderson's film wrong; it is titled simply, "The Best Two Years." "The Best Two Years of My Life" is the filmed stage version and the play itself. Also, I would be curious to know where the statement by Richard Dutcher comes from.

Be sure to check out the LDS Voices podcast, which "broadcasts" talks by general authorities, youth speakers, etc. and is updated every day. It's a nice way to spend your morning commute.

LDS Vacations--Nauvoo, Illinois - Blog Entry

You pointed this out, but prior to visiting Nauvoo, I, for one, had no idea how much stuff there is to see there. Definitely plan to spend some time in Nauvoo. I still have memories of how peaceful and beautiful it is there, on the banks of the Mississippi river. But I am a bit sad that I had to rush around my last (and up to this point, only) time I visited. I wish I had spent two or moe days there, instead of only staying half a day.

Nauvoo really is worth the trip for those who have never been. There's a lot of great stuff to see. And you should plan the extra time to attend a temple seesion there as well.

LDS Vacations--Salt Lake City - Blog Entry

I love the scenery around Salt Lake and Temple Square. Something fun you could do if you have kids would be to give each of them their own disposable camera, and this includes young ones too, and let everyone take theor own photos until they have used up all their film. Then, during your next family home evening, you can look through each others pictures and try to guess who took which ones. You can also pick each other's favorites. This would be a creative way to capture the beauty of Salt Lake's many fine buildings and people.

And don't forget the Art Museum. Salt Lake has a fantastic art gallery. The children's museum is a little ways off from downtown Salt Lake, but it may be worth the trip if you have young kids. They have a wonderful mock grocery store, where little ones can shop for all their favorite food items in their own miniature cart. And they have a childrens' stage, where anyone can take part in a rather dramatic version of "Where the Wild Things Are."

Music Sets the Mood - Blog Entry

I second the comment about Cherie Call. I discovered her music when I was feeling really depressed, and her heartfelt lyrics and beautiful music made me feel like I had found a new friend. She is one of the most gitfed LDS lyricists. I Once recommended her music to someone who hates contemporary LDS music, and the next day they said they were really surprised with how good Cherie Call's lyrics were.

If you want uplifting music, also be sure to check out two other Utah musicians: Peter Breinholdt and Ryan Shupe. They both have CDs available on iTunes. And if you decide on locating any Poi Dog Pondering (as referenced in the blog), I would only recommend the first two cds, a self-titled CD, and "Wishing Like a Mountain and Thinking like the Sea." Everything after those CDs is really not too good.

Also, pretty much any CD by They Might Be Giants is great for kids; I especially like the classic "Flood" CD: a must-have in my book : )
