I do think that TV and video games and our fast past world has lead children to believe that everything must entertain them. Books simply seem dull compared to today's other activities. I also think that the homelife of children in today's world is a major cause. Parents are not as involved. Both parents must work to make ends meet. Fewer parents take the time to sit down and read with their children. Fewer adults have time to read themselves. Children are just not growing up in reading and book based homes.
