I had to go back to work and the babysitter used a breast milk bottle. How upsetting to find out that the bottles may be dangerous. However, I did always use liners because I froze the milk in them. I have never really seen a flexible bottle, I wonder who makes them? Homeschool Prom-Watch 2007 - Blog Entry06 Mar 2007 12:42 PM My cousin homeschools her children. She lives in Athens, AL. They are involved in a lot of activities including sports and music. I think there is more offered in cities where there are probably more homeschooled children. I live in a rural area and there are not as many activities for homeschooled children and not as many homeschooled children. I'm glad that there are activities for the children to be involoved in. The paths were eihter university or technical. Of course the choice could be changed later but the thought of an 8th grade student making a decision such as that one is absurb! I am so glad that you didn't continue in denistry. You made the right decision for both you and your patients. You would have been miserable and that would have affected your family life. The Birthday Debate--When Is the Best Season for a Birthday? - Blog Entry01 Mar 2007 03:28 PM I don't know when it is best to have birthday but I know when it was best for me to deliver a baby! My daughter was born in September. The weatehr was beginning to turn cool, illnesses were beginning to arise, and she slept through her first Christmas. My son was born in April. The weather was turning warm, we took strolls outside, and he was up and crawling for Christmas. My daughter was sick a lot and had tubes in her ears by 8 months. She had RSV on Thanksgiving. My son was never sick much as an infant. Perhaps the season of their births is not the difference but God willing, my next child will be a spring baby. Kindergarten Naptime - Blog Entry01 Mar 2007 03:21 PM I agree, we have a little boy at school that is small and young. His birthday barely met the cut-off date. Many days after lunch he naps on a bean bag. There's nothing wrong with a nap but I'm not for punishing and fussing with children about not taking one. The rule with my own daughter (3 1/2) is that she doesn't have to take a nap but she can't be fussy in the afternoon. Everyday, we sit for quiet time to read books or tell stories. Her younger brother always falls asleep. Sometimes she does and sometimes she doesn't. I swear she can go with sooo little sleep!! Valorie, you are fortunate to have a sleeper!! Why I 'Spoil' My Babies - Blog Entry28 Feb 2007 12:55 PM My daughter sounds much like yours. She was a very 'high maintenance' baby and still likes to be held at 3 1/2. She still does not sleep through the night and may never will! Everyone has always made me feel like I am terrible for not making her sleep by herself. Kindergarten Naptime - Blog Entry28 Feb 2007 04:25 AM Kindergarten children can rarely go 30 minutes without talking. All of my activities are broken up with movement or songs between. We have 2 1/2 hours of lessons (divided into various activities), then lunch, then 1 1/2 hours of learning, then snack/break, then an activity period such as library. Our day is really broken up well. Our school has a schoolwide break at 10:15 each day. Every child needs a break. I don't know how your school considers having lunch and recess at one time.
