We would then go through it and make two piles...what we wanted and didn't want. Then our piles were inspected and we were allowed to eat as much as we could stuff in ourselves on Halloween night. After that it was put on top of the fridge and we could have a few peices in our lunches until just before Christmas. Then they would either eat the rest themselves or throw away the extra. Also whatever wasn't given out at the end of the night was my dads.
