A Mother's View from the Pool-Bikinis on Babies? - Blog Entry

My daughter has worn a one peice, a bikini, and once while at the beach just a swim diaper because we forgot the suit...I don't think it matters at her age. I do think it matters when they get older. They should start to learn its not appropriate to walk around without a shirt...but I think a bikini is okay as long as it's not showing their bum or anything. I wouldn't let her walk around in a bikini for no reason....its strange how my standards change when its about going swimming or dressing for everyday.

I think its silly. I agree children shouldn't be watching tv all day but most babies I've ever met won't watch more than 15 minutes of it anyway. I do use Elmo to help my daughter nap and we're both better for it. She goes to bed just fine at night without elmo and sleeps all night without a problem and yes she does ask to watch elmo but I don't let her watch tv that much and I think most parents wouldn't.

and....all this crazy talk about never using shampoo...ever....We use shampoo to clean our scalp it's not even technically about the hair itself. My hair does need the shampoo because my scalp gets very sweaty (esp being in Florida) and the rest of my body needs soap for the same reason (including private parts) If I didn't wash I would be very very dirty and you could see it. Just rinsing isn't enough unless you use very very hot water and I prefer to not be burnt. If you don't produce as much oil as me then you can probably skip a day or even a week but eventually you will also need to clean yourself somehow. Whether it be with shampoo or vinager or baking soda or something else....if ya don't do it at some point you will eventually stink like a skunk.

Yuck...cats do stink even if your house is clean your cat stinks! You're probably just used to cat sent. I've been trying the not shampooing for Kates hair its day 4 and who knew? she can go 4 days without shampoo. I have used conditoner a few times but she has extremely dry hair and it really doesn't produce much oil. My hair on the other hand can't go one day without shampoo. It does stink when I don't wash it.
