The Importance of Doing What is Right

I am one who feels it is important to do what is right whether you feel like it or not. Others believe that it is important to wait and do what is right only when you fully feel like you are behind the activity. In my experience, however, sometimes you don't fully feel behind an activity until AFTER you have been involved.

The Importance of Encouragement

Encouragement can make or break my day. I imagine that I'm not alone in this. Everyone needs encouragement. Are you looking for motivation to get through your day? You can find it in an encouraging word. Encouragement is a two way street--you give it and you receive it. Who have you encouraged today?

A Virtual Chalkboard...

When I was in elementary school I had several teachers (at different stages of my school career) who would write a "thought for the day" on the chalkboard. I'm sure that most of the students ignored it, but I was one of the few that actually read and enjoyed those daily thoughts. I've decided that a "thought for the day" is a good use for this space.

The Lost Art of Letter Writing

Have we forgotten how to write letters? People used to write long, newsy, heartfelt letters to each other. Card companies and stationers created beautiful cards and elegant stationery for people to write on. Lately, it seems the only letter that I receive are from elderly relatives.

A New Year Brings What?

January 1st. The start of another year. It's hard to believe that 2006 is gone and over with, yet here it is, 2007. What will this year bring? Will it bring happiness, great joy, and success? Will it bring suffering, sorrow, and loss? There is no way to know. The year is in God's hands.
