Thank you for this!!! I have really been struggling with the comoftable neighbor issue lately! Thank you for the reminder that not all that glitters is gold (and is probably debt!)

Incorporating Freezer Cooking into Your Life - Blog Entry

I started doing this when I was pregnant with my son to save me from having to cook during those early days when rest was a huge priority! Now I love the convenience of having a home cooked meal ready to "heat and serve" whenever I don't feel like cooking! I recommend it to all of my friends if for no other reason than it's cheaper and healthier than ordering a pizza on those "tired" nights!

Those Early Temper Tantrums - Blog Entry

Joshua does the same thing as Katelyn! The REAL "fun" begins when I tell him "no"! You'd think I had beat the kid the way he screams and carries on! The past few days have been especially bad and I have a feeling things aren't going to get better for awhile---especially with the addition of a little brother or sister in September (1 month after his 2nd b'day!)

Thanks for this!!! I thought my son (19 months) had thrown tantrums before. HA! What he's been exibiting the past few days are SERIOUS tantrums--dropping on the floor kicking and screaming, etc!

Thanks for this!! It is very timely in our house!

Saving Bread Ends - Blog Entry

In my family growing up we'd butter our corn on the cob by slathering butter on a bread end, and rolling the corn in it. We all used the same piece and at the end somebody had a yummy, very buttery, piece of bread to eat with dinner! :)

When Homeschoolers Go Back To Public School - Blog Entry

One of my roommates (post-college) was homeschooled. When the time for high school came she asked to go to public school, while her younger brother decided to be homeschooled throughout his high school years. Sometimes it just depends on the kid.

It's funny you mention Golden Anniversaries--2 weeks from today my in-laws will be celebrating theirs!

We've having a party for them in 3 weeks and among the guests will be their 3 kids, 5 grandkids, and their great-granddaughter! What a legacy they've passed on! :)

Engagement Break Ups - Blog Entry

When DH and I got engaged 4.5 years ago he took my engagement ring to be insured. While he was at the insurance agent's office he found out that, by law, (at least here in AZ) the ring is considered his property (since he bought it) until the wedding and therefore if we'd broken up I would've been legally obligated to give it back.

Obviously we didn't break up and we'll be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary next month, but that was interesting to learn. I don't know if the laws vary by state, but that is what he was told by the agent at the time.

Running into an Ex - Blog Entry

I am a jealous type. Like you I didn't have any real serious relationships before my husband--but he did.

One of his ex's goes to our church and we have mutual friends. His ex and I have attended the same baby shower and her daughter has been in our Sunday School class.

It doesn't affect my husband, but it does me--I cannot relax when I'm around her, eventhough I know why they broke up and the fact she's married with two kids.

Toys and Dolls for Multicultural Families - Blog Entry

These are great for girls who want a "baby" who looks like them!!!

When my aunt adopted a girl of mixed race (18 years ago) she didn't have this many options!! She ended up buying "dolls of every color" since "that's the way the world looks", but it's so much nicer knowing there are many more options now than back then!
