The Duggar's Go Hollywood - Blog Entry

19 Sep 2008 08:07 AM

Okay, I realize I am probably going to get haters for this comment, but I do think they are irresponsible. How much attention can two people give their kids when there are 18 of them? And do they do this all on their own financially or do they receive help from others? I saw the house on tv and the institutional size kitchen looked really expensive.

"Saturday Night Live" Season Premiere: Fey Swims Phelps Sinks - Blog Entry

16 Sep 2008 10:27 AM

Okay, maybe it is just me, but it seems like Michael must have spent about 12 hours a day in a pool for most of his life (okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but still!). I am not surprised if he cannot keep a comedy skit alive - what did they really expect? Did they hire him only for his comedy skills or because, sink or swim, he is the hottest commodity around today?

52 Romantic Movies You Either Love or Hate - Blog Entry

11 Sep 2008 02:28 PM

My favorites from this list are Dirty Dancing, An Officer and a Gentleman, and Moonstruck. But one of my favorites is Lost in Translation. It isn't a traditional romance movie because the much older Bill Murray and much younger Scarlett Johansson are both married to other people and don't do anything other than hang out and kiss once at the end, but I love that they really get each other, whereas it seems their spouses don't.

Having Twins At Age 59 - Blog Entry

My guess is that princessteva is young - when you are young, you often think with a certain amount of assurance "Oh, I am sure I will live to be 70 or 80 at least." But, I think once you hit 40, you realize that health issues are a real factor in life as things naturally start to deteriortate. I lost a best friend from high school last year to pneumonia - he was only 45 years old.

Is a Blended Family Normal? - Blog Entry

27 Aug 2008 06:45 AM

My family is blended, although not entirely by choice. My father lost my mother when I was 19, then my first stepmother died when I was in my early 30s. Now we are a huge blended family of my dad's second wife's kids, third wife's kids, my youngest stepsister's biological father's family, etc. I know someday I will have to draw a roadmap for my now four year old to understand (including his "Uncle," who is my best friend), but I think as long as everyone loves everyone, it is okay.

Let the Dancing Begin! - Blog Entry

I dunno, maybe it is just me, but I was frankly a little underwhelmed by the celebrity list, although I will tune in to see Cloris Leachman - she is so spry for an 82 year old!

Athletes Stripped of Olympic Medals - Part 3 - Blog Entry

19 Aug 2008 07:30 AM

I agree mrmnmom82 - I mean the guy that inhaled Vicks? But, I guess the IOC has to be strict. I just cannot believe that at one point caffeine was on the banned list!

Swedish Wrestler Refuses Medal - Blog Entry

16 Aug 2008 09:05 AM

Here's a followup to this story on Yahoo News: "Ara Abrahamian was punished by the International Olympic Committee for violating the spirit of fair play during the medal ceremony, becoming the fourth athlete kicked out of the games and bringing the number of medals removed to three."

See, if you cannot play nicely with the other children, the IOC will slap your hand!
