Yeah, Julie -you got me pegged :-) I liked Taylor when I saw him coming in playing the harmonica (that was the first time I remembered seeing him, but I didn't watch from the beginning). I did visit the AI boards last year to read messages about Taylor - LOL!

I like the brother/sister combo best so far. I was kinda surprised at how nasty Randy could be to contestants!

Having had an uncle who was an invalid due to a fall when he was three, I cannot think of these parents as monsters either. I saw my grandparents struggle to take care of my uncle who, even though he grew to a normal size, had limbs that were drawn up because he was bedridden.

Their daughter cannot grow mentally, keeping her from growing physically makes it easier on them - I don't have a problem with it. I actually applaud them for taking responsibility for her care rather than just putting her in a nursing home, which would obviously be the easier thing for them to do if they were truly monsters.

I think the prices are a bit steep. My dad has trouble from time to time with his computer and being 14 hours away, I cannot do much. Fortunately, I worked in tech support before I married and had a friend that was doing freelance support. He charged my dad less than $100 for what the Geek Squad wanted - I think $60 just to look at the problem.

Thanks for the comments everyone. And I agree Traci - I don't know if some of the people this week were mentally ill, but there certainly seemed outside the norm and like that was being targeted. It seems as if just anyone can walk off the street and sing before Simon!

LOL - Funny you should say that Valorie! I kinda feel that way too. It is like the woman that has five kids by five different dads then calls Dr. Laura and gets upset when she yells at her. But I teeter between "they should have known not to come to the audition - Simon is right" and "Wow, that was mean."

Helen Keller should be an inspiration to anyone. I remember watching Miracle Worker when I was little and I was amazed not only with Helen, but her teacher Annie Sullivan as well.

I think Sesame Street did a DVD on deployment for kids (I need to look that info up - Randy may be leaving this summer!). If he does get deployed, I plan to send him cute little packages like I did when he was in Japan over Christmas (like a Christmas tree drawn on the top of a cardboard box with lights, etc.
