If I wasn't a Military Spouse - Blog Entry

27 Dec 2006 08:34 PM

If I weren't a military spouse, I doubt I would have had to given up my career. Moving around makes it hard to find jobs, especially if you are moved to a rural setting like we were when my hubby was a recruiter. But, if I weren't a military spouse, I doubt I could afford to stay home with my toddler, like you said. So, giving up my career is okay for the returns I get on it :-)

Movies on Base vs. Out in Town - Blog Entry

Another down side of military theaters, at least the ones I've been to at Miramar and here in New River is that they are like an auditorium. No fancy stadium seating or really comfortable seating :-( But, with a toddler, I feel much better taking him to the base theater for a couple of reasons. They are a little more child friendly (because most people there have at least one!) and if I have to leave - so be it...it is only a $1 :-)

I know Paul Reuben has had his run ins with the law, but that is no reason to not love this film. His childlike Pee Wee character is just so funny and charming in this movie - I love it!

This is a great movie for boys or girls! My two and a half year old watching it three times in a row on the LONG drive from Memphis to Jacksonville after Thanksgiving. He never seems to tire of it and it teaches a great lesson!

LOL - me too Julie. I can take fake human death on film just fine for the most part (well, I did bawl at the end of Phenomenon), but fake animal death just always makes me cry :-)

I love love LOVE this movie! Bought it for my sweetie because it is a great inspirational (if not somewhat sappy) movie. Did you know Jon Favreau of Swingers fame is his college friend? Kinda hard to tell as Jon weighed much more than he does now.

"The View" News: Rosie's Apology and Star's New Gig - Blog Entry

So basically Rosie said "Sorry, didn't realize it was offensive, but look for me to do it again!" - What the heck? Doesn't sound like a very good apology to me.
