Making Deployments a Little Easier - Blog Entry

17 Jan 2007 12:08 PM

I think Sesame Street did a DVD on deployment for kids (I need to look that info up - Randy may be leaving this summer!). If he does get deployed, I plan to send him cute little packages like I did when he was in Japan over Christmas (like a Christmas tree drawn on the top of a cardboard box with lights, etc.

What is too Far in the Military? - Blog Entry

17 Jan 2007 12:07 PM

I think it is a bit tacky (the Air Force girl posing for Playboy), but then that is just my opinion. I think the military is something to be respected and to do that diminishes that respect in many people's eyes. I thought my hubby (a Marine) said she was a reservist, but I am sure no matter what she is, she won't be for long.

I can't really find fault with Hugh Hefner - if people weren't willing to do it or buy the magazine, he'd be a bum on the street. I'd like to think that I value my morals and body too much to do something like that, but again, that is just me.

Five Reasons to Store Food - Blog Entry

17 Jan 2007 07:33 AM

I've always stored plenty of food (my husband would say too much) in our pantry and freezer. I just thought everyone did until recently. I guess I got it from my grandmother, who grew up during the Depression. Maybe she did it because she was from the country or maybe because she remembers when there wasn't much food - who knows. Anyhow, I like having plenty of stuff on hand.

That's true. Have you ever seen the pics of celebs without makeup, hair, designer clothing? Sometimes I think "wow, that looks like me when I wake up!"

Emotional Recovery After a C Section - Blog Entry

16 Jan 2007 10:51 AM

I know many women have a hard time with this, but I honestly didn't care how I had my baby, as long as he came out healthy. I was in labor for a while, but my body and my baby refused to cooperate together. When I found out I had to have a c-section, I cried, but they were tears of joy! I knew I would be meeting my sweet little bundle of joy face to face soon. To me, the whole birth was such a small part of my life with my baby. I guess I am more focused on his personal and physical growth than how he got here.

Metric Conversions - Blog Entry

15 Jan 2007 09:28 PM

Thanks for posting these Cathy! I hate when I run into a recipe that has grams or ml instead of ounces! Guess I should have paid more attention when they said we would need the metric system in 5th grade - LOL!

Bad News: Water-Drinking Contest Results in Death - Blog Entry

15 Jan 2007 01:27 PM

I really feel for this poor woman's family. You hear about people dying from drinking too much alcohol, but who would have thought you could drink too much water (although I think I read about this happening during a fraternity hazing not too too long ago)?

Dorothy Parker: A Woman Of Acerbic Wit - Blog Entry

Dorothy is my absolute favorite! Did you know she was responsible for the saying "men seldom make passes at girl's who wear glasses?"
