I think maybe it wasn't so much that they didn't want to take them, but you have to remember, our military - including the Marine Reserves with Toys for Tots - are under quite a bit of scrutiny by certain people and groups. Their knee-jerk reaction was probably "Oh, no way we can't take these."

Oh, RealityTV Magazine is also reporting that the lines were supposed to be open until midnight PST and they tried calling BOTH contestant lines at 11:30 pm EST and got the message that said something like "Thanks for calling, but the phone lines are now closed." Hum...
