We actually drove a strip of highway between California and Nevada late one night where there was literally nothing for an hour except a rabbit crossing the street. No lights, no cars, no stores, just mountains, road, and a whole lotta dark. For a city girl like me, it was quite unnerving! I can imagine if anyone lived out there, they might get stir crazy and begin to see strange objects in the sky! I saw my grandparents struggle to take care of my uncle who, even though he grew to a normal size, had limbs that were drawn up because he was bedridden. Their daughter cannot grow mentally, keeping her from growing physically makes it easier on them - I don't have a problem with it. I actually applaud them for taking responsibility for her care rather than just putting her in a nursing home, which would obviously be the easier thing for them to do if they were truly monsters. Fortunately, I worked in tech support before I married and had a friend that was doing freelance support.
