You are not alone. I share a similar story with my mother and grandmother. I constantly feel guilty, though I know if my grandma were coherent she would be horrified to know that she was causing anxiety in others. If it's any consolation, I would bet anything that your grandmother would want you to be where you are happiest... living a guilt-free life.

The lifeguards at our public pool are still in high school (save for a couple that are in college) and most are more interested in scoping out their friends than worrying about whether one child is being held under the water by another. Sad, but true. Thanks for the comment bridge02.
