I'm sure the child's parents played a big role in deciding the age in which he entered school. It seems as though more and more parents are holding off on sending their kids to school, as they would rather the child be a bit ahead physically and emotionally. When my grandmother suffered a stroke placing her in an assisted living facility nearly killed my mother. However, she needed medical and PT care, plus she could no longer walk and my parent's home is not wheelchair accessible. Aging parents shouldn't be seen as a burden because goodness knows they didn't choose to be in the situation they're in.
