Awww Samual, you always know how to make me smile. I too know someone who drives to work even though she lives less than two blocks from her office. I shake my head in disbelief every time I see her car parked in front of the office building.

Not for nothing, but the girl who "expected her boyfriend to drop everything and take care of the baby so she could participate on a dance team" was actually more interested in having him do his part in parenting rather than spend countless nights at the bar with his pals. That jerk wouldn't even watch the baby when she was trying to study. I'm not sure "heartwarming" is a word I would use to describe this show. More like depressing, and a reason to talk to your kids about sex and to consider temporarily sterilizing them until they're at least 30. IMO! Still, a very good blog topic!

I agree that age plays a huge factor, as does the deceased person's relationship to the child. Though, thinking back, my parents ALWAYS made us attend funerals, saying that we needed to pay our respects regardless of how well we knew the person.
