I just saw a story on our local news about teen volunteers at local summer fairs, events, etc. Apparently, the events are taking a hit from the downward economy and need help from volunteers to be able to function. The teens would not get paid but they would be given free admission to events and possibly free food. So, after they work they can take in a free concert and chow down on free fair food. Not bad, if you are bored.

I vote for the last pic. But that's just me. I wear contacts and glasses and my baby didn't really care, so long as my breasts remained the same. That baby is now a preschooler and the only time she says I'm "pretty" is when I don't have my glasses on--go figure. Your baby will recognize you regardless. I chopped off all my hair when my dd was 3 months old and she barely blinked. As for your students--personally I think clean cut = "respect" more than the scruffier look. IMO!!!

Here's what the catch: They pay NOT to get pregnant, but it doesn't specifically say anything about not having sex--just not having babies. I agree with shawspear that sex education starts at home... and hopefully ends there as well.

I agree Ruth Ann, plus, with family funerals parents with young children are in the same boat, and I know for a fact that my grandmother would be horrified (despite being dead) if my dd didn't attend her funeral. I'm sure yours would feel the same way.

Mary Ann, did your son ask to stay home or come home early? My daughter would. I have her enrolled in other activities too, so full day just wasn't a viable option.

Our season just started (we live in the Upper Midwest), but it will only last until the end of the month. I like picking our own as it cost less than $1 a pound.
