Thank you for your comments! I appreciate the new information, which the AP could not provide. You should be very proud of your daughter's accomplishments. She is a hard worker as illustrated by her GPA. Hopefully she will do well on AP exams and earn college credits so she can graduate a couple semesters early. That will save her money. I wish her the best. However, your comments by no means change my father's opinion on this type of fundraising effort, but that's the beauty of parenting--what works for one might not be accepted by another--but the end result may be the same.

Please keep us posted on your daughter's efforts. I would assume that she will be hearing back from Notre Dame in the next couple of weeks, if not sooner. Did she get in? All the best!!

Sadly, Natasha Richardson died last night. A rep for her family says that she was taken off of life support at 1:30 EST Wednesday and passed away a few hours later. I with you Libby. My heart goes out to her sons... and her entire family.

I will be interested to see what Oprah has to say on her live show Friday now that she has suffered the loss of another dog after losing two already, plus the other puppy is dying now too. I wonder if she will just hold off adopting anymore given the circumstances.
