I doubt he knew that they would have sextuplets, but the bottom line is that Kate's attitude shouldn't come as a surprise to him. That said, I don't think that she always treats him in a way that she should be proud of. She insults him, he insults her and they just seem to roll their eyes at each other's rude behavior.
