I couldn't agree more Angie, which is my point--one of the tenets of motherhood is sacrifice. Moms constantly go without--willingly--for the sake of their children. It's practically a job requirement, though the NYT article just shows that some moms sacrifice a bit differently than others. But, I'm with you all the way, the words mom and give til it hurts go hand-in-hand.

I hope when my dd is 12 she isn't the least bit interested in sex, purity rings or anything else having to do with the Jonas Brothers ;-). A mom can dream, right?!

Thanks, but I stand by my blog. No where in the blog does it say that Julianne is getting married tomorrow or next month. I don't think her words were "twisted" at all. In fact, I just saw an interview she did with "ET" in which she clearly states that she may have "mis-spoken" about leaving "DWTS" her exact words were "Oops, I may have spoken too soon and put my foot in my mouth." Perhaps, she did the same with the marriage issue as well.

Also, while I appreciate the correction about Hough being 20, I stand by Wicks' age. He was born on June 20, 1979, which makes him 29. That said, I do appreciate you taking the time to read my blog and including a comment!

ruthann, where did you find the card with 6 spaces? I could only find ones with 4 max and I tried a dozen different sites, including Shutterfly and Snapfish, plus every store around here. I ended up making my own from MS Word program, I got 12 to fit on one page. Still, I rather have the pre-made kind as it took me forever to format my own.

GASP! Valorie how could you possibly compare an American institution with a bunch a 50% off sale signs. ;-) Also, your kids WANT to go. That's a stark contrast to the screaming toddlers I've seen on Black Friday.

Oh man Valorie 6am is like noon to Black Friday diehards. I was referring to the people who line up with their kids at midnight or 4 a.m. and wait outside in the cold, then run like a bat out of -ell to get a gift for themselves, not others. I certainly wouldn't expect parents not take their children out at all on Black Friday... unless that's when Santa confers with mom and dad on what to buy. ;-)
