My Favorite Deals This Year - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:30 PM

I love this blog! My big saver of the year: Flat rate boxes from the post office. I sent a HUGE album to my parents in Hawaii last month. It was filled with hundreds of photos and weighed close to 8 pounds. It would have cost nearly $100 to send priority mail, but I used a flat rate priority mail box and paid $14.95--a savings of more than $75!!!!

I'd love to go to this. Maybe when my dd gets a bit older. Disney's and Macy's... hopefully before I die ;-)

How Much Water Should Your Preschooler Drink? - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:22 PM

Great info. Also, remember that if your child has bowel issues, he/she should be getting at least 24 ounces of liquid (preferably water) per day.

Interview With MTV's Teen Mom - Amber - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:19 PM

It wasn't one of Amber's finer moments, but I agree with Kim--editing can do a lot to shape one's perception of a situation. That said, clearly Amber could use Dr. Drew's help (he offered), only that places MTV in a jam b/c this kind of drama is what attracts viewers and pushing ratings through the roof. High drama = high ratings. Kind of makes you think of all the teen moms who are going through similiar situations and who are NOT on TV.

Obsession Can Destroy Marriage - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:15 PM

I'm not sure that it necessarily has to "destroy" a marriage. Rather, it would necessitate compromise and employment of perspective. If you have two loving partners in the marriage, who are devoted to keeping their vows, this too can be worked out.

Do You Have a Preschool Parent Bag? - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:13 PM

I have one of these too. It's actually a cool Columbia diaper bag, though you'd never know it by looking at it. I lug it everywhere, but the only thing in it that's mine is my wallet. It's my kid's dumping ground.

Meet My Recycling Box - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:06 PM

My parents have the same box. Only my dad is so frugal that when others mistake his box for the trash he actually sticks his hand in the mess and removes the rubbish so he can keep his box intact. UGH!!

How Things Change - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:03 PM

Dale, I was just talking to my sister-in-law about the same thing. Growing up, as soon as we ripped open our gifts we took off down the street to see what our neighbors got. We stayed out ALL day playing on the street with new roller skates, remote control cars, etc. Our street was packed with merry kids and new toys--these days everyone's inside playing with their new video games.

In Memoriam - 2009 - Part 3 - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 01:00 PM

Is it just me or does this list get longer every year? Or maybe there are just more "stars" in the world these days? So many gone...

Complain, Complain - Blog Entry

28 Dec 2009 12:59 PM

Choices, choices, choices--love the choices. I use the same tactic w/ my 5-year-old--only now she expects them with everything and retorts: "I'm 5; I can make my own decisions!" UGH!
