I heard the girl had mental health issues and had tried to OD in front of Paula's house once before, but was saved. But neighbors say they saw Goodspeed's car parked on Paula's street all the time. It is very sad.

Kara you are hilarious. I too wish I could squeeze into my dd's stroller at the end of a long day at the zoo or amusement park... and I run marathons. I highly doubt that strolling your preschooler promotes obesity.

I'm with you deedee, and btw, you have a point about ticket prices, I was shocked at the price for a matinee. Kids should be able to get a seat for less than $5. I paid nearly $7 for my child--and she sat on my lap the entire time.

I don't know, some of those studies include some very startling and convincing information regarding the effect cellphones have on developing brains. I'm with Pattie, I'm interested to see what the latest studies reveal.

Though, Starrlight I must admit when you have kids in afterschool activities cellphones are almost a must. It's almost impossible to find payphones these days.

My young daughter has 4 play cellphones b/c it's impossible to find a child's purse these days without a cellphone included in the set, including standard Fisher-Price sets, Dora, Sesame Street, you name it, they all come with cellphones even those marketed to 2 year olds, and that's not taking into account the teething cellphones they have for babies. So, why should anyone be surprised that more than half of all 8 year olds in the United States have cellphones?
